York Emergency Vets runs from 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday and 1pm Sat to 8am Monday Morning.

An emergency involving your much-loved pet is distressing for both you and your animal.
In many cases it is difficult to know just how life threatening the condition is; you know your pet is unwell but are unaware of the extent or severity of the problem.
This is the not the moment to take risks – if in doubt it is essential to get professional help whatever the time of day. There is no point worrying when you can get proper advice here at The Mount Veterinary Group.
We provide 24-hour emergency care through our sister practice Minster in York where the facilities are available to deal with any emergency out-of-hours between 6pm and 8am Monday to Friday. The service also runs at weekends from 1pm Saturday until 8am ensuring you have peace of mind at all times.
Time may be of the essence with many conditions particularly if your pet has been involved in a trauma such as a road accident or fall. Often serious internal injuries cannot be seen externally so call us as a matter of urgency.
Vomiting and diarrhea, while often the result of a minor stomach upset, can signal a more serious ailment if it continues for more than 24 hours and is accompanied by pain, lethargy or weakness, call us immediately whatever time of day.
Breathing difficulties are another area that can be the sign of a worrying underlying condition, which can be potentially life threatening. Again call us if your pet is wheezing, choking or displaying shallow breathing and coughing.
